Presentación del caso
Female, 61 year-old patient with a dark lesion on the right eye for the past two months. Patient was diagnosed with primary acquired melanosis (PAM) and No touch excisional biopsy was performed. Histopathological evaluation confirmed a corneal-conjunctival melanoma in situ arising from PAM.
PAM presents usually as a unilateral area of conjunctival pigmentation more comonly in middle-age white patients. It can present atypic cells and it is the most important risk factor for the development of conjunctival melanoma.
Keep an eye for conjunctival pigmented lesions!
