Convocatoria para la realización de entrenamiento en Oncología Ocular y Orbitaria

The Eye Cancer Foundation in association with Calle Ophthalmic & Orbit Oncology Center and National Ophthalmological Foundation in Bogotá (Colombia), is pleased to announce a new call for 6-month fellowship in Ocular and Orbit Oncology, for education and clinical training in retinoblastoma as well as a broad experience in other ocular and orbit oncology areas, for ophthalmologist from South America, Central America and Caribbean countries.
Candidates must send your complete documentation to centroftalmorbita@gmail.com. Once the documents are received, they will review, and the final decision will be made by the Foundation board.

Candidates Requirements:

  1. Complete bio sketch (with photo)
  2. Fluency in Spanish and English
  3. Completed Ophthalmology Residency (certificate required)
  4. Completed their national ophthalmological association appointment (certificate required)
  5. Letter of recommendation from candidates Chair/Chief of Service including a
    commitment to take the fellow back to practice ophthalmic oncology in their country
  6. Preferably be under 40 years old
  7. Will co-author in at least 1 publication
  8. Deadline to send documents is February 28th, 2025
  9. The fellowship is scheduled to initiate on April 1 st , 2025

Description:

  • The Eye Cancer Foundation (ECF) will issue a stipend to the candidate for $6.000USD given $1.000USD monthly upon complete each month for 6-month clinical experience resulting in an Ophthalmic Oncology Certification from the Eye Cancer Foundation and associates.
  • COVID-19, influenza, hepatitis B, chickenpox, updated vaccination is required.
  • The candidate must attach a current national or international (preferred) health and accident policy for the training period.
  • Visa requirements: Passport valid for more than six months. We will provide proof of invitation.
  • Countries that are members of the Andean community (Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru) or Mercosur (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela, Chile, Guyana, Suriname) can present a citizenship card or national identity document and fill out the Andean immigration card, Visa PID-E at the time of admission. Esta abierta la convocatoria para la realización de entrenamiento en Oncología Ocular y Orbitaria, auspiciado por Eye Cancer Foundation (Dr Paul Finger. MD.FACS), la Asociación Colombiana de Cirugía Plástica Ocular, Orbita y Oncología (ACCPO), el Centro Oftalmológico Calle – Oncología Ocular / Orbitaria (Dr Alberto Calle-Vásquez. MD.FACS) y la Fundación Oftalmológica Nacional (Dr Pedro Felipe Salazar. MD).

The Eye Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce our partnership with the Colombian Association of Orbit, Ocular Oncology and Ocular Plastic Surgery, and its President Dr Alberto Calle-Vásquez, to offer 6-month fellowships for education and clinical training in retinoblastoma as well as a broad experience in other ocular oncology areas.
